Religious Leaders from across the country have been trained by the Office of the Administrator and Registrar General on the country’s marital laws. The training, which was on 30th June, 2025, at the New Brookfields Hotel, was intended to train the religious leaders on different types of marriages that exist in the country, the legal frameworks governing these marriages, and how these leaders should fill the marriage and divorce certificates based on the type of marriage contracted for proper registration of such documents at the Office. The session attracted over two hundred religious leaders from across the country. Welcoming the participants at the session, the Administrator and Registrar General, Madam Martina Baindu Egbenda, informed them of the relevance of the programme, emphasizing that all marriages should be done in a place of worship as required by law. The leaders will always be called on for subsequent refresher trainings. Facilitators were the Deputy Administrator and Registrar General, Daniel E. Johnson Esq. Head of Legal Affairs of the O.A.R.G., Margaret Sumana Esq, and Head of Marriage Department, Simithe Samura.
