Registering a Limited Liability Company

The Office administers the estates of deceased persons dying  intestate or testate with the will annexed, according to the Administration of Estate Act, Cap 45 and the Devolution of Estates Act, 2007 and under section 9 of Cap 96 of the Laws of Sierra Leone.

There is still need to increase the limit for monies left in Banks for which Letters of Administration are required to Le10,000,000.00 instead of Le1,000,000.00.  Most beneficiaries cannot afford to pay the 10% estate duty and other administrative charges.  It is therefore my view that amounts below Le1,000,000.00 should  be paid on demand into the sub-treasury of the Office and thereafter paid directly to the beneficiaries.
